~ A Reflection by Sr. Abaynesh Lukas, MSC novice
On November 3rd and 4th, the MSC novices went on retreat with the Epiphany Parish youth group.
There were seventeen of us who are active with Alpha who went to Bear Mountain. Alpha is a mission to help people discover and develop a relationship with Jesus. After dinner, we watched an Alpha movie about how the Holy Spirit works among us and in us. This was followed by a time for sharing. The evening ended with a game that was so funny, it made us laugh a lot.
The second day began with Mass. It was beautiful the way in which Father Jim celebrated the Mass, especially for the Eucharist, we shared one bread and the wine from one cup. It was symbolic and so precious.
Following Mass, the group hiked to the top of Bear Mountain! It was gorgeous as all the trees werechanging color. We enjoyed the crunch of the leaves under our feet.
At the top of the mountain, we had our lunch and shared our experience with each other. The retreat continued when we returned to the main house. Our day ended with dinner before heading back to the parish. We had a wonderful time together and we received many blessings and graces.
