What attracted me to a life as a Missionary Sister:
I was inspired by the life and work of Mother Cabrini as well as by the influence of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart who were my teachers at Mother Cabrini High School.
Experience that convinced me that religious life was the right path for me:
I don’t think it was any one experience that confirmed the call to be an MSC, but it was rather God’s persistent speaking to my heart that did it.
Favorite prayer or scriptural quote:
I have special devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help and I entered on her feast day, June 27th.
Favorite way to pray:
I like to pray by just being silent before the Lord and listening to what He has to reveal to me.
Blessings and challenges of community life:
Living with others from varying backgrounds, cultures, ages and personalities calls one to a spirit of sacrifice, compassion, kindness and service. At the same time it can be very enriching and rewarding. One learns to appreciate the gifts and talents that each person brings to the community.
What I love most about being an MSC:
I love the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the call to be bearers of the love of Christ to the world, and the ministries of which I have been called to be a part.
Best loved ministry:
I don’t think I can name one over the other. Right now I couldn’t think of being anywhere other than where I am at Cabrini College.
What I do for enjoyment:
Hobbies and interests: I love being with friends, enjoying the outdoors, engaging in home decorating projects, and reading a good book.
People might be surprised to know that I:
Just a few years ago I went parasailing and loved it.
My advice for those who are in discernment:
Be attentive to God’s voice as He speaks to your heart. Know your own gifts and talents and see what makes you feel happy and fulfilled.
Favorite resources that I would recommend for those in discernment:
Praying before the Blessed Sacrament and contemplating the crucifix.
