Current ministry:
I am the Director of the National Shrine of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini in Chicago, IL.
What attracted me to a life as a Missionary Sister:
The simplicity, the way of life for me and a deep sense of being called to follow Jesus and serve God’s people.
Experience that convinced me that religious life was the right path for me:
A deep sense of peace, conviction, happiness and fulfillment without the absence of challenges and sometimes doubts. I needed to allow love and trust to grow.
Favorite prayer or scriptural quote:
Among many favorites quotes, these are a few: John 4:4:42, Lk 11:9-10, Lk 18:1-8, Lk 24: 25-32 and Isaiah 43
Favorite way to pray:
Just being in the presence of the Holy, reflecting quietly or with music and or with a favorite passage; also just reflecting on a life experience allowing and inviting the Lord to enter into it.
Blessings and challenges of community life:
The blessings are of being a diverse community and the same time finding unity, the views and ideas of many which widen our hearts and minds. The challenges are of being humble, open to listen, understand, accept, respect the differences and let go.
What I love most about being an MSC:
I love everything about being an MSC. I love life and I love people. I try to be the best MSC I can be.
Best loved ministry:
I have been in many ministries and I loved them all, especially I love my present ministry.
What I do for enjoyment – hobbies and interests:
I love talking with friends, walking, reading a good book, window shopping, decorating, cooking and dining.
People might be surprised to know that I
That I am shy, but I have an understanding and compassion for people, and I have inner conviction and strength.
My advice for those who are in discernment:
Is to pray, to be open, to listen and to seek for the deepest desire of the heart…God dwells there!!!
Favorite resources that I would recommend for those in discernment:
To discern with someone, preferably with a spiritual director or a councilor. Pray, listen, be open and trust the voice within. (Read the calls of some of the disciples) Come follow me…what is it to you if so and so…does…
